Este vorba de noul VW T6 care a primit ample modificari tehnice din partea celor de la ABT Sportsline. Masina de fata este una electrica pentru ca ABT a inteles ca este nevoie si de masini comerciale modificate corespunzator.
A versatile workhorse – the electric chassis eCab from ABT Sportsline
It may be surprising that a vehicle tuner should concern itself with electromobility. However, we at ABT Sportsline have been dedicated to future technologies for a long time. Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of the renowned company, stressed: “We believe that the need for mobility in both the private and the economic sector will continue to grow. It is also certain that these needs will be covered in parallel by different concepts”. The tuner from the Allgäu region in Bavaria has therefore been active for some time in the development of “green” mobility. For example, participating in the large-scale electric fleet for the tourism region of Allgäu, being involved in the globally successful electro-racing series FIA Formula E and by developing the ABT eCaddy with a battery pack, in order to be able to respond to the conditions of everyday logistics in the mountainous region.
One platform – many potential applications, zero emissions
The purely electric chassis eCab is new, which is suitable for a wide variety of superstructures. Whether as a distribution vehicle with different superstructures, as a passenger transporter or mobile waste compactor – the eCab is a highly versatile base vehicle. The 13” AL-KO chassis has low access and a flat loading floor without wheel arches. This results in a short fatigue-free loading and high volume. The vehicle concept offers a payload advantage of up to 200 kilos. As an E-vehicle is loaded to 3.9 t admissible total weight, it can be driven with B classified driving license.
The TÜV-approved eCab on VW Transporter base has a range of 120 kilometers according to NEDC and is particularly suitable for urban and surrounding area traffic, as the fine dust, NOx, and CO2 emissions are reduced to zero. In addition the vehicles are free of car tax for ten years in Germany and are subject to very low operating and maintenance costs.
The combination of ABT, VW and AL-KO results in the best of three worlds: A customer-tailored electric drive (from ABT), a proven large-scale vehicle (from VW), and a variable platform for all types of superstructures (from AL-KO). As a result every conceivable type of commercial vehicle can be constructed in conjunction with medium-sized superstructure manufacturers.
Future of mobility
“Electromobility will become a major part in many areas of society” explains Hans-Jürgen Abt, he continues: “Provided that it is possible to significantly increase energy storage capacity in terms of range and to develop common standards. The development of the asynchronous machines as a drive could also be an important step. These largely do not require expensive and rare earths, which have a negative effect on the environment. E-mobility is already useful in the commercial sense as its use can be optimally planned and calculated. Our response to all this is our ABT eCab.”
